Professor from Qingdao University of Science and Technology wins the ‘Hou Debang Chemical Technology Innovation Award’”

On October 15, the award ceremony for the 8th Hou Debang Chemical Science and Technology Award was held in Beijing. Professor Wang Chuansheng from Qingdao University of Science and Technology has been awarded the \"Hou Debang Chemical Technology Innovation Award,\" marking the first time that the university has received this honor. Professor Wang Chuansheng from Qingdao University of Science and Technology has been engaged in teaching and research in areas such as technologies and equipment for the molding and processing of polymer materials, complete sets of machinery for material processing as well as mechatronics, technologies and equipment for recycling waste rubber and plastics, and research on the preparation and application of rubber nanofillers. He has received numerous honors, including being designated as a talent under the New Century Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project, National Excellent Teacher, Model Worker of Shandong Province, Young and Middle-Aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions in Shandong Province, National Outstanding Science and Technology Worker in the petroleum and chemical industry, National Outstanding Science and Technology Worker in the chemical industry, one of the top ten excellent teachers in Shandong’s universities, one of the top ten scholars in Low-Carbon Shandong, Elite Figure of Shandong’s Chemical Industry for the year, Top Technical Talent in Qingdao City, and Model Worker of Qingdao City. He is entitled to a special allowance from the State Council and is considered an expert under the management of the Organization Department of the Central Committee. Wang Chuansheng is currently the supervisor and leader of several experimental projects. He also serves as the director of the Key Laboratory for Polymer Material Processing Machinery, which was established as part of Shandong Province’s 11th and 12th Five-Year Plans, as well as the director of the Demonstration Center for Basic Mechanical Engineering Experiment Teaching in Shandong Province.
It is understood that the \"Hou Debang Chemical Science and Technology Award\" was established by the \"Hou Debang Science and Technology Development Fund\" of the Chinese Chemical Society. It was one of the first awards established by private entities to be approved and registered in 2001 by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, and it is currently the highest scientific and technological award in China’s chemical industry. This award consists of three sub-categories: the Achievement Award (for 3 recipients), the Innovation Award (for 12 recipients), and the Youth Award (for 25 recipients). It is awarded once a year to scientific and technical professionals working on the front lines in research institutions, enterprises, and universities within China’s chemical, petroleum, and petrochemical industries. Since the establishment of the Hou Debang Chemical Science and Technology Award, the Chinese Chemical Society has held seven award ceremonies, and 110 individuals, including Professor Xu Xi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Shen Yinchu, Professor Xu Nanping, and Researcher Zhang Suojiang, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, have been honored with this award.
