Currently, the steel-aluminum joints imported are mainly from two brands: French T+C and Japanese Asahi Kasei. The steel-aluminum joints produced by French T+C use friction welding, while those made by Asahi Kasei employ explosion welding. French T+C’s steel-aluminum joints are recognized worldwide as having the best quality among dual-metal joints, and they are also the most expensive. The delivery time is usually at least two months. Due to their longer length, these joints require lower standards in terms of welding. The joint end face length of Japanese Asahi Kasei is shorter, and its price is slightly lower than that of French T+C; however, it is necessary to control the current and the rate of temperature increase during welding, otherwise cracks may occur. There are also many domestic manufacturers of steel-aluminum joints, but their quality is generally unstable. It is recommended to avoid using such domestic products for pipelines that carry hazardous materials or are in locations where maintenance and replacement are difficult; otherwise, any problems that arise will be costly to address.
