I would like to ask how the calorific value of organic substances is determined, and whether all organic substances have a calorific value
There are analyzers specifically designed to measure the heat released during the combustion of substances; they are called calorimeters, or calorific value analyzers. Since the calorific value of a substance generally refers to the heat generated during combustion under air conditions, and oxygen at a certain pressure is added during testing to facilitate complete combustion, only such organic substances that can burn at the oxygen partial pressure used in the test can have their calorific values determined. Additionally, the calorific value of organic substances can also be estimated through some thermodynamic calculations.
