At around 21:30 on October 19, a rear-end collision occurred involving two tank trucks on the Ziyaya New River Bridge on National Highway 106 in Xian County, Cangzhou, Hebei. One of the tank trucks, carrying 28 tons of benzene, leaked, prompting thousands of students from Xian County No.1 Middle School, located near the accident site, to be evacuated urgently in the early hours of the night. A relevant official from the Publicity Department of Xianxian County Party Committee told The Paper on October 20 that the vehicle involved in the accident had been moved away, no injuries or deaths occurred, and monitoring of the area around the source of the leak was carried out immediately after the incident.
Heavy trucks have too many safety hazards and are prone to accidents.
