Is it okay to mix lubricants for mechanical pumps?

I’m reaching out to all my friends in the maritime community – I’ve encountered a problem. Our procurement department purchased a batch of wear-resistant hydraulic oil, claiming that it can replace WG46 lubricant in vertical multi-stage pumps and other similar machinery. Is this feasible?
They cannot be used together, as the additives contained in the lubricants are different; mixing them can cause the oil to deteriorate.

I think you’ve misunderstood what the purchaser meant. What was intended was that it could replace anti-wear hydraulic oil, not that the two should be used together.
Wear-resistant hydraulic oil can be used as a substitute for the WG46 lubricant in machine pumps. But they cannot be used interchangeably.
It’s not clear whether mixing them is possible, but could you confirm that the pump uses WG46? Isn’t it VG46?
