I used to work in the petrochemical industry; now I’ve joined a new company that is also involved in the pharmaceutical sector. I saw colleagues at the new company; when installing pipes, no matter what type of pipe it was, they would simply attach a fitting at the bottom. I would like to ask: Is this correct? I used to learn that gas pipes should not have outlets pointing straight downward (to prevent water from flowing along the pipes to the user’s location); for liquid pipes, those with a diameter of 4 inches or less should also not have outlets pointing downward, to avoid impurities blocking the pipe openings during welding. Is there anyone in the pharmaceutical industry who could introduce their project?

For pharmaceutical process pipelines, stainless steel is used; the pressure is low, and there isn’t much welding slag in the welding process. That’s how we configure them as well
