Hello everyone, a polytetrafluoroethylene gasket needs to be used as a separator between stainless steel pipes and carbon steel supports. What thickness should this polytetrafluoroethylene gasket have? Are there any relevant requirements in the standards? Thank you all
The specifications do not provide explicit guidelines; its main function is to provide isolation, and a thickness of 1-2 millimeters is generally sufficient. Too thick a layer makes it difficult to bend. It depends on the support details specified by the client, and the installation company will apply for the necessary funds
I haven’t heard of any specific standards for this; when observing how contractors carry out the work, some use rubber pads, some use PTFE pads, and others use wooden supports.
There should be a specification sheet for pipeline support, typical diagrams, or something like that, right?
Should this part be included in the quote?
Some will overlook it; the construction party will assume that asbestos is being used by default
I haven’t heard of any standards; as long as it’s easy to install, that should be fine
