Industrial trial project for the new generation of coal-based ethylene glycol technology launched at Fujian Institute of Physical Chemistry 2016-11-25 On November 5, 2016, Guizhou Xinchun Technology Development Co., Ltd. and Sinopec Luoyang Engineering Company reached an agreement to restart the industrial trial project for the new generation of coal-based ethylene glycol technology (NCTEG); they amended the contract for technical cooperation and development, and signed an EPsCm contract. The project is expected to be completed in mid-August 2017, with trial operations starting in October, thereby laying a solid foundation for the industrialization and market development of the next generation of coal-based ethylene glycol technology. Guizhou Xinchun Technology Co., Ltd. was established in October 2016, jointly funded by Guizhou Xinchun Energy Co., Ltd. and the Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter under the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Building on the first-generation coal-to-ethylene glycol technology, a research team led by Researcher Yao Yuangen from the Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences, worked together to develop a second-generation coal-to-ethylene glycol technology package with complete intellectual property rights, which includes new high-efficiency and low-cost catalysts and technologies, as well as entirely new process flows.
