How to remove iron filings from coal slurry? Please share your respective approaches.
Suspension separation, strong magnetic screening, sedimentation separation
The conventional approach is to install permanent magnet blocks at the discharge end of the coal grinder, in a ring shape, and to clean them regularly; this can yield some effect. However, due to the high viscosity of the coal slurry, iron removal usually isn’t very effective, so there isn’t a particularly good solution.
Are there any mature, currently in use methods for removing iron? I’d like to refer to them
The traditional approach was to install permanent magnet blocks at the smallest opening at the discharge end of the coal grinder, just before it entered the drum screen, and then to remove the iron shavings regularly. This method has been in use for over a decade; we always did this in the past, and this is a concrete example – there’s nothing to doubt about it.

Is this method ineffective for non-ferrous metals such as copper and stainless steel welding electrodes?
If you search online using the keywords “permanent magnet magnetic separator” and “electromagnetic magnetic separator”, you’ll find a wealth of information and images. . . Magnetic iron removal equipment is common in mines. . . There are many manufacturers and products available on Alibaba; they are quite common devices. . For electromagnetic iron removal, you still need to connect cables; permanent magnets are better.
