Our company’s low-temperature unit requires emergency maintenance and stopping of operations; the shorter the time, the better. How short can the methanol regeneration process be? What are the standards?
It’s best to be more specific, such as which device it is, and to see if regeneration is not necessary.
If maintenance is required on a specific tower, it can be isolated separately without the need to remove all methanol from the plant
Equipment in cold areas must take equipment rewarming into account
The standard is to control the heating rate at 2-3°C/h. When both the primary and secondary outlet temperatures of the scrubber are above 0°C, and the temperature at the middle section of the hydrogen sulfide concentration tower is also above 0°C, the warming process is complete. Of course, methanol regeneration is also taken into account to prevent H2S poisoning of personnel.
