Why are stainless steel bottles used in laboratory experiments for crude oil desalination and dehydration? Instead of glass bottles? Is it because it needs to be heated to over 100°C that the glass bottle cracks under the pressure difference? If the temperature is between 80-90°C, can glass bottles be used?
That's how it is. Above 100 degrees, water boils, pressure increases, and glass becomes unsafe. If it is below 95 degrees, a quartz glass bottle can be used.
