The reason is mostly due to the extremely high content of organic substances in the boiler feedwater; these organic substances decompose into organic acids under the high-temperature conditions of the boiler water, resulting in a low pH value of the boiler water. Therefore, it is necessary to address the issue of high organic substance levels in the boiler feedwater
We previously encountered the issue of high levels of organic matter in the water. Adding flocculants in the second pump room could only precipitate suspended solids and large-molecule organic substances; it was ineffective against short-chain organic compounds, resulting in excessive COD levels in the soft/deoxygenated water, which affected subsequent production processes. Solving this problem is simple: add an activated carbon filter before water treatment, after the mechanical filter, which can effectively prevent this issue from occurring.
