Safe production has only a starting point and no ending point; there are no shortcuts. However, when it comes to ensuring safety, one needs to be persistent and diligent – it’s a simple truth after all. ““Mother-in-law’s mouth” and “daughter-in-law’s legs” are vivid metaphors for ensuring safety work; as long as “mother-in-law’s mouth” keeps talking and “daughter-in-law’s legs” keep moving quickly, the impact of this approach is indeed significant. “A strict supervisor is indeed very important for safe production. No set of rules, preventive measures, or regulations, whether printed on paper, posted on walls, or read out in meetings, are as effective as constant nagging. Inspecting work safety means being persistent and talkative; it means keeping talking. When violations of safety procedures are detected, one must speak up without holding back. Failing to do so constitutes negligence. One must keep talking, even if the other party gets annoyed or turns hostile, and continue speaking ； At the pre-shift meeting, repeat the points tirelessly: discuss recent examples, talk about methods to prevent accidents, explain what might happen during today’s work and how to prevent it, and outline what actions should be taken to ensure that family members can feel at ease ； At safety meetings, it is emphasized repeatedly that, in accordance with work requirements and arrangements, employees should be taught how to learn from accidents, how to enhance their awareness of self-protection and their protective skills, and how to identify and address potential hazards during operations, so that correct and appropriate methods are firmly established in their minds ； During safety inspections, it is necessary to explain patiently that these inspections should be carried out by comparing everything against the standards, and that any shortcomings should be pointed out on the spot based on the actual situation; meanwhile, preventive measures and alternative methods of operation should also be discussed ； In safety management, it must be repeated over and over again: it is better to hear criticism than cries. Keep emphasizing this point, day after day, month after month, year after year. Once people hear it often enough, the idea that safety comes first will take root in their minds, and they will act accordingly. Gradually, this becomes a habit, and when a habit turns into something natural, many problems can be easily resolved. It is clearly insufficient for safety management to remain at the level of mere nagging. There also needs to be a pair of “daughter-in-law’s legs” – being diligent in showing up at the site, conducting regular inspections, and providing guidance. It is necessary to go to the busy production sites for inspections, to oversee things closely, and to look for problems even in the smallest details. Once problems are identified and potential risks are detected, it is necessary to urge timely rectification. In fact, as long as one visits the grassroots levels regularly, deficiencies in work safety can always be identified; corrective measures can then be proposed in a timely manner, ensuring that work safety is properly implemented. In my free time at work, I often spend time talking with employees, asking for their opinions, feelings, and suggestions regarding safety. Even just listening to their complaints allows me, with a sincere heart, to build a close relationship with them. Employees then feel that you are trustworthy, and that your words are expressed from the perspective of safety and their interests. It becomes much easier for them to accept safety concepts when this is the case. Here, it all comes down to the efforts of the wife’s legs; if you don’t run, safety won’t appear out of nowhere. The young wife ran around constantly, relying solely on her hardworking legs and a strong sense of responsibility. Safety work is a long-term and arduous task; there is no such thing as a one-time solution. To do this job well, one needs to be persistent in speaking out when necessary and to be diligent in carrying out tasks. With a strong sense of safety responsibility and an unwavering commitment to work, one can surely serve as a guardian for the safety of employees, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the enterprise
