The coarse slag has a high water content, and during transportation, the water in the slag falls onto the road surface from the vehicles used to transport it; as a result, the hygiene conditions along the routes used for transporting this slag are poor. I would like to add a vibrating screen for dewatering at the discharge port of the slag skimmer. Have any manufacturers installed similar devices, or are there any better methods for handling this?
Vibration screens have not been used; generally, what is done is to seal the slag transport vehicles more tightly, by using foam agents to seal the gaps in these vehicles on a regular basis. However, the effectiveness of this approach isn’t particularly good. Some vehicles are also equipped with water collection tanks to collect water, which is then transported to designated locations for disposal. If vibration screens were used, it would definitely help solve the problem of coarse slag containing water, thereby preventing leaks from the slag transport vehicles. But this would require higher investment. Leaks from these vehicles represent a major source of contamination that affects the cleanliness of the gasification unit area. If the project is located in the north, where winters are cold and roads freeze over, maintaining cleanliness becomes even more difficult – it’s indeed a troublesome issue. At present, many vehicles are equipped with water collection tanks, and this does provide some level of improvement.

Not all aerospace applications use vibrating screens; if the screen isn’t clogged, the performance is still quite good

A vibrating screen is installed below the slag hopper. Freezing in the northern regions is also a concern; adding mechanical equipment inevitably increases the workload related to maintenance and repair. Does any manufacturer use such a vibrating screen? Please provide a detailed description of its usage and its efficiency in dehydration.
