I’m seeking advice from experts. Our company needs to design an ammonia decomposition furnace that produces 75% H2 and 25% nitrogen. What standards should be followed in this design? Is a safety production license required for the hydrogen generated here? Does anyone know? Please help, thank you so much.

A hazardous chemicals manufacturing enterprise refers to an enterprise that is established in accordance with the law and has obtained a business license or an approval document from the industrial and commercial authorities, and is engaged in the production of final products or intermediate products listed in the Catalogue of Hazardous Chemicals. Intermediate products refer to those that are produced to meet production needs, serving as raw materials for one or more products to undergo chemical reactions in the subsequent production processes; they do not include those intermediate products that arise from multiple consecutive chemical reactions taking place within the same reactor, with the resulting substances undergoing continuous transformation. The List of Hazardous Chemicals (2015 edition) includes 1,648 items, indicating that hydrogen is a hazardous chemical.
It is unclear whether the relevant equipment counts as pressure vessels or pressure pipelines; if so, it may fall under the regulatory requirements for special equipment.

But can mine not be considered an intermediate product? The hydrogen produced did not enter the storage tank; it went straight into the furnace where it was burned up. There was no excess hydrogen left. I think many companies that use ammonia decomposition furnaces also do not have safety production licenses. Therefore, in accordance with relevant regulations, hydrogen is a hazardous chemical that requires strict supervision, and its production must be carried out with an official safety production license. Of course, if your hydrogen production volume is relatively small, the local safety supervision agency may not impose oversight. Considering that ammonia is used for the decomposition process, a liquid ammonia storage tank may be necessary; liquid ammonia is also a hazardous chemical that is subject to strict regulation. It is recommended that you go directly to the local work safety supervision agency for consultation, and follow their requirements.
Hydrogen burns directly, so why not burn ammonia directly? Is this some kind of environmental project aimed at preventing the formation of nitrogen oxides? This process is rather strange; hydrogen is burned off and not used – if nitrogen is all that’s needed, why not simply use air separation?~~~
