According to the **specifications, pressure testing must be carried out using oil-free and clean water (with proper control of chloride ions), but what are the specific criteria for ensuring oil-free status? Our unit plans to use deionized water for testing; the oil content level detected in this water was 5.4 mg/L. I would like to ask experts whether this water can be used? ?

Regarding the issue you raised, since oxygen pipelines undergo degreasing treatment after pressure testing, the requirements for water used in the hydraulic testing of these pipelines are specified in clause 8.6.4.1 of the \"GB 50235-2010 Code for Construction of Industrial Metal Piping Projects\": clean water should be used for hydraulic testing. When testing stainless steel, nickel, and nickel alloy pipes, or pipes connected to such pipes or equipment, the chloride ion content in the water shall not exceed 25×10 ̄6 (25 ppm). I know this; no specific standards regarding the oil content in the water are specified there – only clean water free of oil is required. I ensured that the inside of the pipes was clean and free of oil during the construction process (the oil level there was 49 ppm). After the hydrostatic test, I didn’t carry out any further degreasing procedures, only purging.
