The alkylation complex of Jinxi Petrochemical Company, with a total investment of nearly 1.1 billion yuan, includes two units for alkylation and waste acid treatment, along with associated supporting facilities. The 240,000-ton per year alkylation unit primarily employs the refrigerated sulfuric acid alkylation process technology developed by DuPont in the United States. The raw materials used are the C4 fraction supplied by the MTBE unit, liquefied gas from the reforming unit, mixed C4 from the hydrocracking unit, as well as externally purchased liquefied gas. The 24,000 tons per year waste acid treatment plant also employs the DuPont waste acid treatment process from the United States; this process increases the concentration of alkylated waste acid to 99.2%, allowing it to be reused as a catalyst in the alkylation process, thereby enabling efficient and environmentally friendly treatment of alkylated waste acid. At present, the water interconnection test of the two sets of equipment as well as the individual testing of the main equipment have been completed. The next step will be to conduct airtightness tests on the equipment, with official commissioning expected in mid-November. After going into operation, Jinxi Petrochemical will optimize its product mix and increase the proportion of high-octane gasoline; it will also produce some Jing VI gasoline to gain an advantage in capturing the market.
