Our company is a newly established project. What are the requirements regarding fire management by the construction contractors? Is it necessary to establish designated areas for performing welding work and to designate zones where welding is prohibited? We would appreciate your advice on this matter. Thank you! !
If welding is to be carried out in an external construction area, a designated welding zone can be set up for easier management. However, the designation of a hot work area requires a meeting and coordination among the company’s safety department, the department responsible for the relevant construction area, technical personnel, and the construction party; it is only after confirming that there are no conventional hot work risks in that area that it can be designated as a hot work area. Finally, put up a sign on site; the front side should read “Hot Work Area”, and the back side should have a simplified diagram of the hot work area (with the company seal).
Areas that are too close to the administrative zone where operations take place are not suitable for designating as areas with fixed fire use; at least our factory does not approve such designations.
