Due to production requirements, the hydrocracking unit is constantly in a state of hydrogenation modification. The reboiler at the bottom of the fractionation tower operates at a load far below its designed level; both the blower and exhaust fan are turned on, while the frequency converter and inlet dampers are set to very low positions. To save energy and reduce consumption, can the flue dampers be opened, with quick-opening dampers used for control? Theoretically, doing this will result in large fluctuations in negative pressure, poor combustion of the fire, and unstable temperature control! I haven’t tried it since starting the project; those with experience, please share your insights! Is there no such operation at low load?

Logically, the energy recovered from the flue gas by starting the drum blower should be greater than the electrical energy consumed, resulting in overall energy savings. Back to the topic you mentioned. Since there is a small adjustment damper at the bottom of each fire basin, which is used to control the amount of air intake, it is possible to ensure stable air supply without using a blower ; After the fan is stopped, it is even easier to control it using flue dampers. We have controlled it this way before, and there were no problems. Many devices have done this.
