What people commonly refer to as a \"sky pump\" is actually an arm pump. It has many other names as well, such as pump truck, arm-mounted pump truck, concrete pump truck, or concrete transfer pump truck – all of these terms refer to the same thing as a sky pump. A ground pump actually refers to a towed pump. Therefore, to understand the difference between overhead pumps and ground pumps is to understand the difference between boom pumps and crawler pumps. 1. Sky pump: The main reason why it is called a sky pump is that it is capable of transporting concrete to a certain height, thereby compensating for the shortcomings of other concrete pumps in terms of delivery capability. Compared to other concrete pumps, tower pumps have their own boom, allowing them to transport concrete without the need for manual piping, which makes them very convenient to use. Ground pumps: Ground pumps are used very frequently in many large basements. Since they lack an arm, manual intervention is required to connect the pipes when using them. Additionally, on construction sites, for high-rise buildings that are difficult to reach with aerial pumps – such as those 200 meters tall or higher – ground pumps can also be used to transfer concrete through hoses. However, this is possible only if the ground pump has sufficient power to deliver concrete to such heights, and if the length of the hoses is long enough to reach the height of the building in question.
