Hello, everyone! Ensuring the safe operation of chemical plants through the winter is a major issue; a slight carelessness can lead to the plants, which are otherwise operating safely and stably, having to be shut down due to pipe freezing, resulting in heavy losses, and in some cases, it can even trigger safety accidents. Therefore, the anti-freezing of chemical processing units is something that professionals need to discuss among themselves.
We have to develop anti-freezing plans every year
It is necessary to fully motivate front-line employees; they know their equipment best!
Update the anti-freezing plan annually, along with special anti-freezing and anti-condensation inspection record forms
Freezing prevention in winter is a problem that businesses in the northern regions cannot ignore. This issue should actually be taken into account during the design phase of plant construction, but it is often the workers who think of remedies. Every year, we start discussing measures to prevent freezing of fire protection pipelines in August and September, yet still, pipes freeze and water supply is interrupted during winter

The two members of my Equipment Department inspected, back half a month ago, each of the workshops in the northern and southern plant sites to identify the areas prone to freezing; each workshop was assigned a workshop equipment supervisor responsible for carrying out repairs within a set deadline, with fines imposed daily if those repairs were not completed
Flaws are inevitable in the design; if not noticed, freezing will occur in winter. One must pay attention to regular inspections, keep an eye on areas that are prone to freezing, or implement some technical improvements
More consideration still needs to be given to intrinsically safe design. Technical measures, management measures, personal protective equipment, and other methods come second. Ultimately, it comes down to implementation.
