If required by the buyer, the suction port shall be designed to have the same maximum allowable operating pressure as the discharge port. The buyer should consider installing a safety valve on the suction side of this pump unit. What does dual pressure rating mean? Thank you

This is specifically designed for multi-stage pumps such as BB4 and BB5. Since these multi-stage pumps consist of multiple stages, they have a relatively high head – the head of a BB4 pump can be over 1000 meters, while that of a BB5 pump can be over 2000 meters – but the inlet pressure of such pumps is very low. This raises a problem: since the pressure at the pump inlet is low, the pump manufacturer can design the inlet section to handle low pressures during production ; The pressure at the pump outlet is high; therefore, during production, the pump manufacturer needs to design the outlet section of the pump to handle high pressures ; Correspondingly, we can design the pump’s inlet flange in 2/2.5/4/5 MPa (according to different flange standards), while the pump’s outlet flange can be designed at 6.3/10/11/16, etc. (based on the outlet pressure and flange standards) ; That’s what is meant by two pressure levels (the hydrostatic test pressures for the two sections are different). However, users are allowed to request that the inlet and outlet sections be designed with the same pressure as the pump’s outlet; but this increases the cost of the pump, and it doesn’t bring much benefit~
