When in the blink of an eye first entered the sulfuric acid industry over 10 years ago, he also didn’t have much experience at that time. I still remember that my former supervisor gave me a lot of support; in many situations he encouraged me to handle things on my own (he even said he would take care of any problems that arose^_^). Fortunately, I was successful overall, thanks to the guidance and support of several experienced senior shift leaders in the sulfuric acid workshop at that time – I handled the major decisions while others took care of the details. My experience is that imagination is crucial, as well as a solid theoretical foundation. Many of us like to learn *, but we don’t necessarily like to put what we’ve learned into practice. I think combining theory with practice, and applying what one has learned in real life, is an enjoyable process in itself. One example is the issue of reduced heat transfer efficiency in the scaled tube exchangers supported by hollow rings; the designer was a university professor who visited the site twice. At that time, I noticed the problem with the airflow distribution in the shell side, and I immediately proposed a solution to add more channels. Several years later, I heard this professor speak about multi-channel scaled heat exchangers at the Sulfuric Acid Conference.

It is now generally believed that sulfuric acid production plants do not require high levels of technical expertise; when new plants are set up, owners can simply hire a few people to handle the work. The workers in my factory are all farmers from nearby villages; the factory manager also has only a primary school education. He’s too stubborn and lacks awareness, which has led to countless wastes of money. The cost saved by using a vehicle or by raising the temperature could cover several years’ worth of my salary, yet I’m still the one who suffers as a result… Things have gotten a little better recently; I’ve managed to get rid of several of those managers. Original poster, I’m a newcomer to the sulfuric acid industry. After starting to work on operating the equipment, I suddenly felt really confused, as if I didn’t know what to do. I want to improve my skills but don’t know where to start; I don’t know how to proceed or what direction to take. Please share some valuable experience with me!
Thank you to the original poster for the advice. I don’t usually keep a record of such things intentionally. The last rhetorical question really made me nervous; I can outline the general steps involved in driving, but when it comes to specific details, I lose confidence. Please provide more guidance!

To sum up: It is best for those working with sulfuric acid to have practical experience in factory settings, and to take opportunities to visit other sites and communicate with peers in order to apply theory to practice.
