Dear sea friends, the workshop uses centrifuges to separate oil-water mixtures, and the ratio between the oil phase and the water phase is adjusted by changing the size of the washers inside the centrifuge. With the oil-water mixture and the processing volume remaining constant, the larger the inner diameter of the washer, the smaller the proportion of the oil phase. In my understanding, the larger inner diameter of the washer means that when liquid is introduced into the centrifuge, the vibration of the internal rotor increases, causing more of the mixture to be flung against the inner wall of the rotor. As a result, the water phase increases while the oil phase decreases. Does anyone know what the function of a washer is? Thank you
I just spoke to the engineer from the manufacturer; the engineer only emphasized the function of the adjustment ring, without explaining how the washer functions.
