It must be the design department; the key question is which specialty within the design institute will handle it?
Design institutes should not design such equipment separately; the boiler manufacturers’ design departments should be responsible for that
Why is the main steam drum demister in the original post still using the old wire mesh type demisting elements from the 1960s and 1970s? The steam in medium-pressure drum has a high density, and the density difference between gas and liquid is small; as a result, the efficiency of the wire mesh demister is low and it is quite unstable. Currently, feather-leaf high-efficiency gas-liquid demisting and separation internals are generally used to replace screens.
