This technology combines the organic Rankine cycle with a screw expander; the entire system consists of an evaporator, an expander, a condenser, and a liquid pump. When recovering low-grade waste heat (waste gas and water vapor at pressures above 0.1 Mpa, as well as hot water or hot fluids at temperatures above 75°C), the recovered heat source heats the working fluid as it passes through the evaporator; this results in high-temperature, high-pressure steam that enters the expansion engine, driving it to perform work and thereby generating electricity. The low-temperature, low-pressure expansion fluid discharged from the expander enters the condenser, where it releases heat to the environment and condenses into a liquid state; this liquid is then pumped into the evaporator to evaporate, thus completing one full cycle. Screw expanders belong to the category of positive-displacement expanders; they have a compact structure, high strength, and are not prone to damage. It has an extremely strong ability to operate under varying conditions, capable of stable operation within a load range of 10% to 120%, making it highly suitable for the recovery and utilization of energy sources with high variability in parameters such as waste heat and residual heat.
