When metal reacts with acid in a 5000L reactor, some hydrogen gas is produced – can this gas be vented to the outside using plastic pipes?
No. Hydrogen is very dangerous; it is flammable and explosive. It should be collected in a sealed manner, burned collectively, or utilized effectively.
It can’t be discharged directly outside; the reason will be explained upstairs. Additionally, plastic pipes are also not recommended; for flammable and explosive media, steel pipes are a better choice.
With plastic tubes, fire and static electricity resistance is a problem; it’s caused by the material itself, and there’s no good solution for it!
It definitely can’t be discharged directly outside – H2 is very dangerous. As mentioned above, it should be handled in a centralized manner, and it’s best to make effective use of it.
