Can needle valves be used to control pressure?

Hello everyone. I would like to ask whether it is possible to control the pressure behind the valve using a needle valve, or whether a pressure reducing valve must be installed instead?
It shouldn’t be possible. After all, the working principles are different.

The needle valve is used to block the flow of the medium from one side to the other; controlling pressure is not its function anyway :)
It can only control flow rate, not pressure
Use it for control; after just a couple of attempts at adjustment, you’ll find that this needle valve is no longer usable
