According to the latest customs data, in October 2016 China’s imports of polysilicon dropped to 8,680 tons, showing a slight decline of 2.2% on a month-on-month basis, but an increase of 15.6% compared to the previous year. By October 2016, the cumulative import volume had reached 112,216 tons, representing a significant increase of 16.4% on a year-on-year basis, with an average monthly import volume of 11,222 tons. The import of polysilicon through customs in October had the following four main characteristics: From January to October 2016, a total of 54,581 tons of polysilicon were imported from South Korea, representing a 32.4% increase compared to the previous year. According to customs statistics, in October 2016 China’s exports of polysilicon amounted to 165 tons, a 37.5% increase on a month-on-month basis. From January to October, the total export volume was 6,607 tons, representing a 2.7% increase compared to the same period the previous year. 　On November 28, the solar-grade polycrystalline silicon production facility in Xinjiang Daquan New Energy has an annual capacity of 12,000 tons; currently the facility is shut down for maintenance, and the time when it will resume operation is not yet known.
