Comparison of several slag treatment processes: Has anyone done comparisons in this area? Some of these processes include high-temperature hot water towers, while others do not. Some have three stages of flashing, while others have four. Do anyone have any unique insights on this?
I would like to share my understanding; I hope experts can correct me. Saturated hot water towers utilize direct contact heat exchange, resulting in a high utilization rate of the waste heat from the flash vapor ; If the subsequent conversion process after gasification is full conversion, a slag treatment process with a saturated hot water tower is beneficial for increasing the water vapor content in the crude syngas ; Regarding the number of flash stages, it should be determined based on the content of light components in the slag water and whether they have value for recycling. Another major issue with slag water treatment is that the pipelines are prone to clogging; therefore, the longer the black water processing path, the greater the likelihood of clogging, which is likely a drawback of multi-stage flashing.
There must be other factors as well; I hope those who are aware of more can provide additional information
It can be said that there are advantages and disadvantages in each case; some of these measures are taken as a result of the inability to avoid patents. As for the number of flash stages, it depends on what considerations are taken during the design process
