1. There are holes in the flat cover; under what circumstances is the size of the connecting pipe advantageous or disadvantageous for the flat cover? 2. When is Pb at the junction of the flat cover and the cylinder definitely a secondary stress?
At the junction of the flat cover and the cylinder, is Pb always considered secondary stress? Isn’t it always treated as secondary stress?

At the junction between the flat cover and the cylinder, there is only tensile stress and bending stress; there is no compressive stress. The former is a primary stress while the latter is a secondary stress
