How should occasional leaks from valve packing be dealt with?
The packing gland can be tightened appropriately. If the packing has reached the bottom, the filler must be replaced.
Compress it; otherwise, replace the packing assuming the valve stem is in good condition
Replace the packing; if that doesn’t work, then replace the valve
Compress; if that doesn’t work, replace it·~~~~
Some of the packing can be replaced or more packing can be added
In the case of leakage, if it’s not severe and a person can climb up, tighten the packing gland. If the leakage is serious and a person cannot climb up or dares not to, then relieve the pressure, tighten the gland again, or replace the packing
Tighten the gland; if that doesn’t work, the packing will have to be replaced. . .
