Dear experts, what is unidirectional sealing and what is bidirectional sealing? How many types of sealing exist?
A floating ball valve provides one-way sealing, while a fixed ball valve provides two-way sealing. A check valve provides one-way sealing.
There are many types of valves, and it’s not that simple to classify them as single-direction or double-direction sealing
How are single-direction sealing and double-direction sealing defined?
Generally, regarding the direction of the pressure difference, if the pressure difference always points in one direction, it is a unidirectional seal. If the direction of the pressure difference is indefinite, it is a bidirectional seal.
A one-way seal allows sealing only when the medium flows in one direction; it cannot ensure sealing when flowing in the opposite direction. Bidirectional sealing means it is sealed in both the forward and reverse directions
