How should a high-temperature pump be preheated after maintenance (with no fluid inside the pump head)? This is how we do it in our workshop: we slowly open the inlet valve to a low degree, then open the vent valve on the outlet pipeline. Once hot oil starts to flow from the vent valve, we close it. After that, we fully open the inlet valve and open the preheating valve to a certain extent, and proceed with slow preheating in this manner. Is this method of preheating correct?

For filling the pump, can I simply open the inlet valve and let the high-temperature medium oil flow directly into the pump head? Isn’t it required that the temperature increase should not exceed 50 degrees per hour?
If the outlet valve will not open, use a pre-heating line to gradually raise the temperature for preheating; keep the opening degree low. Then open the vent valve on the outlet pipeline, and once hot oil starts to flow from this vent valve, close it. Next, open the inlet valve fully and open the preheating valve to a partial extent, and continue with this slow process of preheating.
Then one has to keep watching nearby, waiting until the pump is filled...

It’s okay for you to do it this way (it’s the only option available). But it’s best to design the heat pump pipeline during the design phase, so that no one needs to monitor it; the heat pump will remain operational continuously, and filling the pump can be done directly~
The heat pump piping system involves running a branch pipe from the outlet of the pump in operation to the standby pump, and running another pipe from the outlet of the standby pump to the inlet of the pump in operation. I’m not sure if it’s possible to make modifications on site~
