As the title suggests, the tert-butanol content in MTBE product is 1%; how can it be removed? Can single-stage flash distillation be used for this purpose? According to available information, there is no issue of azeotropy. If separation isn’t possible, why?
Controlling the water content in the raw material strip is the key
Each case needs to be analyzed on its own; the approach used earlier is suitable for most situations. I just want to deal with what’s inside the product
Control the raw material dehydration step to regulate the methanol concentration.

The product is difficult to handle. Only the source can be controlled
tert-Butanol is produced by the reaction of water and isobutylene; either the starting materials contain water, the catalyst has not been properly removed, or the ratio of alcohol to olefin is low
