Degreasing is necessary in special situations, such as when a medium free of oil is required; oxygen pipelines and liquid oxygen pipelines also need to be degreased. In general, in the air separation industry and the gas industry, most pipelines and valves are required to be degreased. Common degreasing agents include propane, trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene, carbon tetrachloride, etc.! However, trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene, and carbon tetrachloride are all quite toxic; they are now generally banned. Trichloroethylene is used more frequently, as it provides adequate degreasing results. There are soaking, wiping, and cyclic rinsing methods for degreasing. To determine whether degreasing is successful, a grease detector is used.
