Which one to choose for pipeline inspection guidelines?

There are generally two standards for pipeline inspection: GB/T20801 and GB50184. GB/T20801 is only applicable to pressure pipelines, while GB50184 applies to all pipelines; therefore, I usually use only GB50184. I’m not sure whether using only GB50184 will lead to conflicts with GB/T20801; what are the differences between these two standards?

50184 is generally used in conjunction with 50252 and 50235. 20801 is a safety technical standard, not a construction process standard.
Check whether the design documents specify testing standards; if not, determine which standard system the design follows, and try to use the corresponding testing standards from that system. It’s not necessary to use the strictest standard available, as each standard system has its own focus areas. In the petrochemical industry, SH3501 is used most of the time
