Explosion-proof motors come with standards; when purchasing such motors, the manufacturer must possess an explosion-proof certification. They are primarily used in coal mines, the oil and gas industry, petrochemical industries, and the chemical industry. The rated voltage, rated current, power, and speed of explosion-proof motors are the same as those of ordinary motors; the only difference is that explosion-proof motors carry an explosion-proof marking: Ex – explosion protection type + equipment category + (gas group) + temperature group. The standards for explosion-proof motors were established jointly by the **General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine** and the **Standardization Administration of China**, through the issuance of the \"Energy Efficiency Limits and Grades for Small and Medium-Sized Three-Phase Asynchronous Motors.\" In the industry of explosion-proof motors, virtually all models in this category must comply with these standards. 1. The explosion-proof motor industry must strictly implement the standards for explosion-proof motors specified in the \"Energy Efficiency Limits and Grades for Small and Medium-Sized Three-Phase Asynchronous Motors.\" This helps China achieve its goals regarding energy conservation and emission reduction, making a significant contribution to environmental protection. The production licenses for explosion-proof electrical products will also be issued in accordance with the new standards for this industry ; 2. Although the energy efficiency values specified in standard GB18613-2012 represent an improvement compared to previous versions, all specifications of the YB3 series of flame-retardant three-phase asynchronous motors currently promoted in China meet the energy efficiency limits set out in GB18613-2012 for level 3; moreover, some of these specifications can even reach the energy efficiency targets specified for level 2 under the new standard. 3. Manufacturers of YB3 series motors are requested to accelerate production and market promotion efforts; at that time, relevant departments such as the **Explosion-Proof Electrical Products Quality Supervision and Inspection Center and the Department for Reviewing Production Licenses for Explosion-Proof Electrical Products will assist these companies in carrying out this task. 4. As of September 1, 2012, manufacturing enterprises or importers must apply energy efficiency labels to small and medium-sized three-phase asynchronous motors that are manufactured or imported, in accordance with the **standard GB 18613-2012 \"Energy Efficiency Limits and Grades for Small and Medium-Sized Three-Phase Asynchronous Motors\". The Energy Efficiency Labeling Management Center of the China National Institute of Standardization has already begun accepting applications in accordance with the new standards, and our company has completed the registration process. The newly registered segments are the same as before, but the testing method has been changed from the previous approach of calculating miscellaneous losses at 0.5% to Method B in GB/T 1032 – the loss analysis method for measuring input and output power. For models that have already been registered in accordance with the 2006 standards, a change registration is required; one test report must be provided for each segment of the change registration. 5. When purchasing an explosion-proof motor, check whether it comes with an explosion-proof certification from the manufacturer. Explosion-proof motors are mainly used in coal mines, oil and gas industries, petrochemical industries, and the chemical industry. The rated voltage, rated current, power, and speed of explosion-proof motors are the same as those of ordinary motors; the difference is that explosion-proof motors carry the “Explosion-proof” designation along with the mark Ex. The format for this designation is: Explosion-proof type + Equipment category + Gas group + Temperature group.Current standards for explosion-proof motors (2012):
