Dear sea friends: I have been calculating EDR and HTRI recently, and I noticed that there is again a difference between the results of the two. It mainly includes the following two aspects: 1. The corrected heat transfer temperature difference calculated by HTRI is 14.2°C, which is equal to 20.73*0.6827*1; here, 20.73 represents the value calculated based on pure counterflow. The corrected heat transfer temperature difference calculated by EDR is 21.05°C. This difference in calculated temperature differences results in a surplus heat exchange area of 19% for the first method and 75% for EDR (with the same heat transfer coefficient calculated for both methods). Which one should be taken as the standard? 2. HTRI indicates no resonance vibration issues, but EDR shows some. Dear sea users, has anyone encountered such a problem? Or how to solve it? The area margins of the two are quite different, which is why one indicates vibration while the other does not.
What is the cause of the vibration? I must be overthinking it.

Vibration is caused by frequency, and it is related to the flow velocity inside and outside the tube, that is, to the pressure difference; it has nothing to do with the amount of remaining heat exchange area.
