When a radar level gauge is used to measure the level in a tank that has a bypass pipe, is it necessary to provide an opening in the bypass pipe? The medium inside the storage tank is oil; does the pressure in the tank affect the liquid level readings?
If there’s no hole at the top, where will you install it? Are you referring to openings similar to those in waveguides? No way, that means everything has leaked
The bypass pipe is connected to the upper and lower horizontal pipes on the side of the storage tank via flanges, while the guided-wave radar is inserted at the top of the measurement pipe – flange connection is sufficient!
Do you plan to make a hole at the bypass pipe location? No additional holes need to be made in the bypass pipe for this; radar operates by means of electromagnetic waves, and pressure has no effect on level measurement
