Can carbon molecular sieves withstand pressure swing adsorption for nitrogen production at high pressures, such as 35 MPa? Have any friends tried this before? Is it possible? Of course, low purity and low flow rate are also acceptable; the key is whether it will work

The mechanical strength of carbon molecular sieves is 100 N/m². Theoretically, there’s no problem. But, but! Due to prolonged high-pressure stress, the molecular sieves grind against each other as well as against the container walls, and quickly become powdered. So far, there have been no reports of practical applications under such high pressure.
Why is it designed this way? If high-pressure gas is desired, it can be purified and then a piston or diaphragm compressor can be used~~
We have a project with a very low gas flow rate; a small compressor is used to raise the pressure to 35 MPa, with the aim of further achieving nitrogen-oxygen separation
If the volume is indeed very small, you could try Quick Cool; after vaporization, it can be compressed to 350 bar. Leaving aside whether the adsorbent can withstand such pressure, just the adsorption tower and buffer tank involved are a concern given that pressure levels are so high~~ Hehe··
Is nitrogen production done by utilizing residual pressure? If so, the pressure can be reduced first.
