The standard temperature remains unchanged; a coal cake height of 5200 is acceptable. The moisture level tested is within acceptable limits. The volatile matter content of coke should be between 1.1 and 1.4. Now, the thickness of the coke cake produced is 200 mm higher than before, and the temperature in the furnace roof area is low, at 770–780°C. I’m not sure whether this is due to poor contraction or something else; I’d appreciate some advice.

The temperature in the furnace roof area is 770–780°C, and it needs to be controlled very carefully. This temperature should actually correspond to that of the raw coal gas; however, due to the thermal radiation from the furnace walls and coke, the measured value is higher than the actual value. Therefore, it is reasonable to control it at the lower limit. The height of the coal cake remains unchanged, but the height of the coke cake increases; this can only be attributed to poor shrinkage properties.
