What are the differences between screw compressors used for transporting process gases and air, when the process gas is natural gas? Some manufacturers modify screw compressors used for conveying air to use them for transporting process gases.
It must operate based on the medium as specified at the time of manufacture; changes cannot be made arbitrarily. Natural gas is less dense than air
At the very least, explosion-proof measures must be in place; the grade of lubricant may need to be changed, and anti-static measures should also be implemented. Leakage must be strictly controlled, and medium replacement is necessary when the equipment is shut down. The media transported by process screws are mostly flammable and explosive, so careful consideration must be given to this aspect.
