In the existing reaction, a slight excess of chlorine gas is used, and dichloromethane serves as the solvent. When solvent removal is completed, some chlorine gas remains in the mixture. I would like to know whether the chlorine gas will come out along with the solvent, and whether it will dissolve back into the dichloromethane again as it condenses. Is there any way to remove the chlorine gas?
Your dichloromethane is recycled; the chlorine can dissolve in it and still be used, which is good. Why go to the trouble of removing it completely? It will absorb a small amount of chlorine during condensation, but most of it will still escape through the exhaust pipes
Can a separation vessel be used, just like in oil refining? In oil refining, substances are also desorbed from the oil

It’s either because too much running was done, or there was a slight excess of chlorine at the beginning; that excess part dissolves in dichloromethane, and it gets recovered again when we collect the dichloromethane
After the reaction is complete, use compressed air to blow out any excess chlorine gas. If distillation is performed, it can be neutralized with sodium sulfite, sealed, to remove a small amount of chlorine gas. Worried about moisture, use a desiccant to absorb it.
