Answer: The respirator consists of an iron tube and a glass container containing desiccant, which is connected to the space inside the oil reservoir. When the air in the oil conservator expands or contracts with the volume of the transformer oil, the air that is expelled or drawn in passes through the breather and the desiccant contained within it; this desiccant absorbs the moisture from the air, acting as a filter to keep the oil clean and maintain its insulation properties.
Are you referring to the desiccant on the oil pillow?
The transformer undergoes oil fission, which generates gas and leads to an increase in pressure within the oil cylinder. The breather ensures that excess waste gas is discharged in a timely manner, keeping the pressure below a certain level
