Yes, it was available at our previous site.

I have disassembled the thermodynamic hydrophoger of that type, and its disk is still a relatively thick piece of metal; it’s not because I saw it used in vertical pipes that I think it can only be used in horizontal pipes (it makes more sense to use it in horizontal pipes). Since 2002, when we discovered that bimetallic traps (with a constant temperature and adjustable drain temperature) were effective, we have used bimetallic traps in almost all of the 200 or so heat-traced steam traps in our workshop; in a few cases, straight-tube constant-temperature traps were used. After searching around the site, we managed to find two disk-type traps, both of which are installed on vertical pipes (for sealed steam drainage). Using a disc on a vertical pipe may affect its closing performance, but it will not impact its drainage function; at most, it will result in more steam being released.
According to Chapter 4, Section 4 on steam traps in the \"Design Manual for the Installation of Process Piping in Petrochemical Plants – Part 2: Piping Fittings\", thermal-dynamic disc-type steam traps can be installed at any angle, while orifice-type steam traps must be installed horizontally. This is inconsistent with the requirement in SH/T3012 that thermal-dynamic steam traps should be installed horizontally. It is recommended that, during design, disc-type steam traps be installed horizontally as much as possible.
