This is the first time I’ve seen a pipe cap of such large size; I’m not sure whether it will be durable or what the requirements are for welding it
I’ve learned something new; it’s the first time I’ve seen something weighing 6,000 pounds.
Meeting for the first time, let’s learn a bit :)
In ASME B16.9, there are plug weld pipe caps, as well as those rated for 9000 pounds. In Table 1.

The CL6000 rating does not refer to the same thing as the flange’s rating; it is more related to the wall thickness and strength, as is the case with CL9000
It seems that these things are all of a very high weight class
Fittings for socket welding are made in accordance with the SH/T3410 standard; if you look at this standard, you will find that the minimum grade specified is CL3000. Plug welding is available in only three grades: CL3000, CL6000, and CL9000
