For example, a butterfly valve made entirely of 316 material started leaking after just two months of use. Even worse, in some of the lift-type check valves, the valve cores were second-hand, with obvious signs of prior use; they were simply processed and then sent to us... We would appreciate it if everyone could share their experience regarding quality control, ideally one that includes a thorough inspection process. For instance, for ball valves, how can we determine whether the ball core meets the required material standards? Thank you in advance; the more suggestions you have, the better!
When the goods arrive at your warehouse, don’t they provide the material certificate and warranty card along with them? It comes down to this: with valves, you can’t do like with equipment, where you can assign a supervisor to be on site and keep an eye on things. For the user, only these 2 things can be seen.

For example, the registered capital should be over 50 million yuan, along with various industry-related certifications. There should also be proof of past business transactions with large companies such as Sinopec and CNPC, in the form of copied contracts. If acting as an agent to carry out business, it is essential to ensure that shipments are made directly from the manufacturer, and payments should preferably be handled directly with the manufacturer as well.
Domestic valve manufacturers have made technological progress and enjoy a clear price advantage over foreign manufacturers, but the gap in quality remains significant. We have also certified well-known domestic manufacturers, and assign dedicated inspectors to conduct supervision and inspections during the procurement and manufacturing process. However, after use in the field, the differences gradually became apparent; there were many problems such as internal and external leakage of the valves, as well as rusting. It is hoped that the management of domestic valve manufacturers will carefully analyze the reasons, strive to improve their quality and technical standards, and narrow the gap with international leading brands.

The size of the company or whether it is a well-known brand are not criteria for evaluating product quality in China. I offer the following suggestions: 1. Control the material and hardness of the sealing surface. 2. Turn the switch several times during on-site testing; generally, if there is no leakage after 5 turns, it indicates that the sealing surface is fairly reliable. There are also some valves such as butterfly valves or hemispherical valves that cannot be adjusted during testing; this is simply the way their structure works – if adjustments are made, sealing is fine, but without those adjustments problems arise.
The problem mainly lies in the process management of this system. As a user, the most important thing is to provide accurate information for purchasing. Another option is to raise the pressure rating of the valves used to one higher level and apply them in critical processes; this will also improve the quality. It’s just a suggestion for your consideration.
