A pressure pipeline is to be installed, with heat transfer oil as the medium; it is thus a heat transfer fluid pipeline. Since a hydraulic test cannot be carried out, an air pressure test is used instead. However, the design documents specify that the pressure used in this air pressure test must not exceed 0.6 MPa. If this limit is exceeded, then the butt welds must pass 100% radiographic inspection, and the fillet welds must pass 100% MT or PT inspection. Is such a specification reasonable? Where did his 0.6MPa come from? What is the basis? I hope the experts here can give me some advice
Pneumatic testing is too troublesome; we use hydraulic testing instead. Drain guides are installed at all low points, and after the water has been drained, high-volume air is used for purging until no visible water remains.
Is there a 0.6MPa version available from design companies?

I just checked, and there is no limit of 0.6 MPa. The main problem is that once the design company sets such a requirement, it becomes difficult for us to carry out the installation, and the costs become too high.
If no basis can be found, I can negotiate with the design company to have them make changes to the design
If the nominal diameter of the pipeline is less than 300 mm, the pneumatic test pressure can be increased to 1.6 MPa (SH3501)
It turns out that the pressure test for 50235 had a 6-kilogram limit, but this limit is not present in the new version
