Questions regarding the thickness of wave-tooth composite gasket pads per GB/T19066-2008

The last edit to this post was made by dlutyj on 2017-3-23 at 13:01. GB/T19066-2003 specifies only one thickness for gaskets; in 2008, another option became available. I’m not quite sure why, or rather, I don’t fully understand the impact of these two thicknesses on sealing. Has anyone here learned about it? Let’s study it a bit.

The new standard does specify two options; both sizes should be usable. The standard doesn’t explain how to choose, so it’s better to ask the wave-shaped gasket manufacturer. We don’t use wave-patterned gaskets very often; they are only used for large-diameter pipes with DN > 600. The GB/T13403 standard specifies only one thickness for such wave-patterned gaskets
